Context

The Paris region, which wishes to strengthen its ties with Karnataka in the field of research, asked us to organize a Franco-Indian meeting. We chose a theme that is well represented in the Ile-de-France region as well as in Karnataka (within the Raman Research Institute (RRI) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bangalore).

The theme chosen is “The role of science and technology in the development of Karnataka.” well represented in Ile-de-France and in Karnataka (at the Raman Research Institute (RRI) and the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) in particular): collective effects in atoms. Each researcher is asked to bring a young researcher.

Pratical information

WHEN: July 13-18, 2026

WHERE: Bangalore

Program

Atoms provide an ideal environment for studying collective phenomena, whether classical or quantum in origin. The transition between the dynamics of a single particle and those observed in multiple-body systems is a central issue in the physics of correlated systems and quantum engineering.

Topics covered:
1. Quantum Computing
2. Quantum Optics
3. Nonlinear optics
4. Cold atoms
5. Quantum Sensing
6. Quantum Simulation
7. Quantum Materials
8. Ultrafast Physics
9. Quantum many-body systems
10. Quantum memories

After the talks you will be able to visit two laboratories.

Registration

Registration will be open from March 30th to May 4, 2026.

Participation is free but registration is mandatory !

Please, when registrating, submit a title and a short abstract of about 5 lines. A 1 page abstract with figures and references will be asked later.
